Kilbehenny Community Employment Scheme

Our Community Employment Scheme is vital to the survival of our community. Participants spend their days keeping the villages and surrounding areas of Kilbehenny and Anglesboro clean, tidy, and litter free, and supporting all activities which take place there.    We are fortunate to have people who have a great appreciation of nature,  planting sowing and pruning as the seasons dictate.   A beautiful sandstone welcomes visitors and locals alike to our lovely village.

                      Kilbehenny Community Centre Extension

Work has now begun on the construction of an extension to our  Community Centre in Kilbehenny.   Local parishioners and invited guests attended the 'Turning of the Sod' on Sunday 21st August after 11.00 Mass.

As our Parish Priest, Fr. Kelly was on holidays, Fr. John Littleton blessed the site.

A special word of thanks was extended to Noel Bradfield, Kilbehenny for the use of his land for this extension.

Progress on the new construction can be viewed in our 'Photo Galleries' page

Events and Activities

In Kilbehenny, we are very fortunate to have a group of volunteers who work tirelessly to keep our Community Centre maintained and busy all year round.   There is never a quiet moment here with all sorts of activities ongoing right throughout the year: Dances,  Bingo,  Progressive-45 Drive, ICA, Ladybirds, Brownies, Girl Guides, Foróige, Little Tots, Meetings,  Classes in Computers, Irish Step Dancing, Cookery, Sewing, Holistic Therapies, Body Image, Safe Pass, AED, Festivals, Funeral catering, Fund-Raising events etc.

Thanks to the voluntary efforts of those people,  our Centre continues to be a happy, healthy hive of activity and with the new extension around the corner, things can only get better!
